beehive awarded 'Best Gospel Act'
Yes it's True!!! Beehive have won a MOBO Award for Best Gospel Act. The band were presented with this prestigious award at a ceremony in London on Monday 10th November and met other major acts, including Shola Ama, Omar and the Brand New Heavies. We've got some great pictures of the band which will be posted for all to see in the next few days. Thanx to everyone who voted and keep on groovin'!!!
In November '97 beehive received a Mobo Award for their debut album 'Brand New Day'. In January '98 beehive performed to a packed house at the Jazz cafe, London.
Beehive performed at the Cross Rhythms Festival on Saturday (12th July) and were filmed for the Alpha Zone TV programme which is due to be Broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK on Sunday 20th July at 10am.
Beehive performed at numerous festivals throughout the summer including Soul Survivor (England), Flevo (Holland) and Summer Madness (Northern Ireland). Check the Tour Dates for more information
The debut Album, Brand New Day, was recorded at the band's own studio in London and mixed at Livingston Studios, which has been home to the likes of Kula Shaker, Incognito, Mark Morrison and Bjork.
Predominantly, the album features previously unreleased tracks with some great re-mixes of old tunes which we know you'll love. You can hear audio samples from the album plus selected tracks from other product MERCHANDISE.
The album was launched on Thursday 13 March at the Jazz Cafe, London, where beehive performed live and signed copies of the album.
Brand New Day was chosen as one of five featured recordings, to be played on rotation in over 200 venues around London throughout April. The venues reacted very positively to the album and continue to play it on a regular basis.
Beehive performed live on Thursday 1st May at an International Music Industry Showcase at The Rhythmic, Islington, as part of London Music Week '97
